Sortened Song Names On Rockbox Playlist
« on: June 15, 2007, 10:39:01 AM »
I used Winamp to create a .m3u playlist and I put the playlist in the "Playlists" folder in the root of the ipod.  When I go to play the playlist on Rockbox on my iPod(Video), I go to Playlist, playlist catalog, then I select the playlist, view playlist, and the song names are shortened or something.  Like all of them have 4 letters.  Is there a way to change a setting so it will display the whole song title?

Thanks!

no, the playlist viewer only displays the actual filenames of the files, and files in the itunes/ipod database on an ipod usually have garbled filenames.

The only way to get around this currently is through using proper file names, most good tagging software should be able to generate filenames from tags.
But if you do this you won't be able to play them through the OF anymore...

I dont think its really think its worth not to be able to play songs on the OF.  There are pros and cons to both firmware and what we have to do is way the best and easiest way to get the most out of both.  For the better of the pod   lol
