Sansa Safe?

I dont know what recovery mode is and I dont absolutely need to do i?

Vortex:
No you don't need to know what it is.

Like I said, Recovery Mode is only meant for repairing a non-functional player. As long as your player still runs you won't need it.

Commsman:
I am using Rockbox on my Sansa and it is fantastic. Problems solved over the Sandisk firmware: REALLY fast fast forward and rewind, volume changing on restart, file management (I can delete podcasts I have listened to! Hooray!) jpg image viewing, Text file reading (eBooks anyone?!) and much much more. Rockbox is a delight.
The rough edges of the current version (June 2007) are:
- need to boot into Sansa mode to connect by USB (not hard, just one extra quick step)
- no easy way to view Album Art unless you are ready to patch files (a step to far for me - especially as even when one does this, the support for album art remains patchy - no art in ID3 tags supported for example)
- no support for my 2Gb MicroSD card yet (or any size card in fact). My main reason for having the Sansa is to listen to podcasts - I keep these in the main memory with extra music files on the MicroSD card. Again - I look forward to support for the addon cards - but in the meantime it not a problem to reboot into Sansa mode to listen to music.
Overall - I am dead chuffed.
Cheers
J

Vortex:
If you head over to the Anything But iPod forums there are a few custom builds that contain (working) SD-Card support as well as Album Art. Try cpchan's build for example. http://www.anythingbutipod.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=72

The main problem I have with rockbox on my Sansa is that it is not possible to listen to and browse through your music at the same time because the menu navigation gets really slow while playback is running. The OF remains smooth at all times.

Nonetheless I'm not using the OF anymore, except for transferring files of course.

not in the snv version... if that is happening with a custom version (and going by your post im assuming you are using a custom version) then they have put a dud patch on, my guess is enabled frwquency scaling which doesnt work on the sansa
