Supporting Itunes Plus Gapless on Rockbox.

(1/3) > >>

Crasus:
Before I posted this as a feature request I just wanted to see what other people thought of the idea.

Since apple started selling Non-DRM AAC tracks through itunes plus, what is the possibility of supporting the gapless method used on these tracks.

Looking through this thread: http://forums.rockbox.org/index.php?topic=8125.15
It is my understading that the encoder used for these files writes the gapless info in a tag that is not a LAME header.

I recently purchased an album on itunes plus and the tracks play fine in Rockbox. Which is very cool. They however do not play gaplessly. Since Rockbox already supports the tagging scheme used in these aac files (the metadata info shows up on the wps), would it be too difficult to implement the tag reader to read the gapless info as well?

jonashn:
WTF is itunes plus? Do you mean iTunes Store?

GodEater:
He means "plus" in the sense of "and".

Febs:
"iTunes Plus" is Apple's name for the new portion of the iTunes store that sells 256kbps AAC, non-DRM files from the EMI library.

Crasus:
Sorry forgot to put in the "  ".  As Febs said I meant Itunes+ Or "Itunes Plus"
