Deleting songs "on the fly"
« on: June 12, 2007, 09:06:58 PM »
At risk of being told this is not the place for feature requests...

Has anyone ever thought about adding a delete option when playing a track, for when mysterious songs you don't even like appear in a playlist.

I can see how this could be difficult, but you could mark things for deletion by moving them to the .trash (or equiv)

Oh and what is the right way for me to post this idea as there is no way I'd be able to code this.

If you KNEW this wasn't the right place for feature requests, why did you post it here?

Not to mention, you should usually make sure Rockbox doesn't have a feature *before* requesting it.

I knew it was the wrong place, but i did not know the right place.

I search the feature requests for deleting and removing. beyond that i could think of the words so if the feature exists I apologise.

Well, if you searched the feature requests, I assume by way of the feature request link on the left, why didn't you post to the feature requests board, using the feature requests link on the left side of every page?

As for searching for it, a good place to start is the manual. You know, to make sure Rockbox doesn't have the feature you're asking for built in...

My sincere apoligies, I see now i can delete a file from the file browser.
But there appears no way to delete a song from within the WPS, I was thinking like the Quick screen, delete could be an option there. Can i change the options in the quick screen? I've looked for this one in the manual and feature request, so I should post it to the feature requests?

I shall be more thorough with my searching in the future.

I didn't post to the feature requests because i thought that was for people who could start the feature.

Why would people starting the feature Request it? That's kinda contrary to the meaning of the word...

And from the wps you can tap one button to return to the filetree. If you're using follow playlist, your song is right there for deletion.
