Music isnt seen

(1/1)

eyemthatguy:
I installed Rockbox on my 5.5 80gb last week and had it working fine.

then I got the bright idea to delete the default folder structure of F01\xvcf.mp3 and recopy all my mp3s in my directory structure.

Initially I created a new folder called 'music' and copied my existing naming structure to it.
EX. \.rockbox\music\%artist% [%year%] %album%\%track% %title%.mp3

I attempted rebuilding the database and seemed to complete successfully however nothing shows up.

I then just copied \music and all its contents to \ipod_Control\music\%artist% [%year%] %album%\%track% %title%.mp3

and again tried rebuilding the database to no avail.

Any suggestions on how to get my naming structure to work?

safetydan:
Both of the folders you tried to use are not where you should be putting your music. The .rockbox folder is for Rockbox internal files and the ipod_control folder is for Apple OS internal files.

You should must create a folder called /music in the root of your player and put your music there.
