iPod mini 2G database--odd problem

(1/1)

TheHarbinger:
I've followed a suggestion from an earlier thread to allow use of original Apple firmware and RockBox on my Mini 2g.  I'm able to successfully switch between the two and find (most) of the music loaded under iTunes on the Apple side with RockBox.  However, I'm experienceing an odd problem.  So far I've loaded two albums worth of music from two different artists.  The original firmware finds and load the music fine.  On the RockBox side, I initialized the database and told it to update (after re-booting), then tried finding the music I loaded on the Apple side.

Well, I can find one album just fine.  On the other album, only four songs are found--track number 1, 2, 3, and 14.  I've re-initalized the database several times (re-booting afterward) and updated several times...same result.  All tracks from that artist are available under the original formware.

By the way, this uses the 6/10/07 build of RockBox.

saratoga:
Make sure those files are tagged.

TheHarbinger:
Thanks for the reply.  I had to go into each file and add/correct tag data in iTunes since, when they were ripped, the artist/track number/song title were all in the name of the file.  So, all the files should now be properly tagged.

Llorean:
You tagged them in iTunes, which doesn't always actually write tags. It sometimes seems to just update its own database rather than the files. Try verifying with an independent tagging program.
