iPod Photo - iPodpatcher cannot find iPod

I am having problems in using ipodpatcher with the ipod photo.  The computer recognises the device, but ipodpatcher puts up a message to ensure it's in disk mode, which it is, and to connect the ipod.

Is there a solution to this?

Have you tried killing all the iPod related services on your computer ?

OK this didn't work, the iPod was tried on another computer where rockbox had been successfully installed with ipodpatcher on an iPod video.

What resetting the iPod Photo to factory defaults via Apple's update utility possibly fix any ipod related issues?

Did the other computer also have iTunes installed on it ?

Hello,

OK.  Computer 1, where we're trying to get the Photo working.  

Computer 2, has no iTunes and the iPod Video works fine, Photo does not.

Video works fine on computer 1 which does have iTunes, this indicates that it's not any of the computers but the Photo that's at fault, hence why I asked if a restore to factory defaults would help, then trying to install on computer 2 (just for added security).

I am Having the same problem I hate apple and formatted my player before installing rockbox.

I believe it is the recent changes in ipod patcher
to use a different detection system.

If you can find an older version before the recent changes it should work,
It does for me. Not sure why the detection system was changed or how many people find it now broken.

Perhaps the developer could look at this?

Thanks, I'll try an older ipodpatcher, hoe it works with the latest rockbox, as it wouldn't when I tried the latest on my video - i.e I had to use the new ipodpatcher (post feb 2007) with my ipod video when I upgraded the rockbox firmware (previous update nov/dec 2006).

Ipod patcher Just been updated on svn.
The problem I  had was 0xC type partition where before this last update 0xB was only looked for.
The new version now looks for either.
