edit one letter in a specific font

hi everybody  :)

i m using the nimbus12 its a great font clear for my two languages (english and hebrew) i like it very much

but i really want to change one letter that really disturb me cause it look like something esle

i know the rockbox fonts r in a unik format

so is there a way to do it?

grab any program that can edit .bdf fonts, then you just need to "compile" the font to the rockbox format (run the convbdf program) and copy it onto your player.

let me see if i understand you

what your saying is that i can reconvert the ROCKBOX font to .BDF format
than edit it and covert it back to ROCKBOX format

am i right?

no, goto http://svn.rockbox.org/trunk/fonts and download the .bdf you want to edit, then mopdify it and probably upload it somewhere for either inclusion into the souce, or for some nice soul to compil it into a .fnt for you...

which letter dont you like?

can recommend on a free bdf editor that works on XP


the letter i didnt like is in hebrew called "Yod" in this font it looks like " ' "
very disturbing

fontforge maybe? I dont know..

(/me knows hebrew) yeah, I can see how it could be bad, when you fix it be sure to upload the new bdf so it can be fixed in svn.

edit: just installed fontforge, yeah I can see the yud isnt very nice... can you come up with a better one though? there isnt really much space there.

i try to install the fontfrog but i think its just for unix
and i didnt find any window .exe file to install it

make a bmp in paint 5 wide X 10 and put in online somewhere and ill do it for you coz im bored and lookin for ways to not study :)

my best effort looks crap :'(

edit: ok, it can be bigger then 5x10... got confsedin this wierd program :p
