are there any plans of implementing song ratings into rockbox?

BuFu:
i'v had rockbox on my H120, and now i have it on my sansa e280.
i really enjoy it. but one thing i really miss is song ratings. something like, being able to rate my songs and then play all the 5 star rated ones.
are there ay plans of implementing such feature into the firmware?

Walrus:
Doubt it, since there's no ratings system embedded in ID3 tags.

However, I do think this would be an awesome feature, since I used ratings for the same purpose with the original ipod firmware.

ColdSphinx:
You already can rate your songs.
Look at the WPS Context Menu...
You just need to make a custom_tagnavi.config then you should be able to do what you explained.
Perhaps you have to enable "gathe runtime data" for the database.

but i'll have to use the database feature for that wouldnt i? the thing i like the most about rockbox is not being forced to work with ID tags.

and i used to do the same with the original sansa firmware walrus, and now i really miss it=[

Yes, you would have to use the Database to view/select tracks based on rating, but you could write a custom tagnavi file to do *just* that, and use the file browser for everything else.
