Why Creative's GUI stomps all over Rockbox
bluebrother:
Rockbox (and any other music player as well) can't just find the files on your player if the folder structure is different. As has already been said, m3u is just a list of filenames (including path). If someone wanted to just search the files by stripping the path this won't work as expected -- just think of two songs with the same name. For example, I have a song called "Isobel" twice on my player -- the first file is by Dido, the second by Björk. How should an automated matching mechanism differentiate between those two files? (You could of couse invent some more extended playlist format to allow this, but I don't think something like that is feasible at all -- just use a good and consistent folder structure, then you don't need additional logic)

I didn't. On the contrary, I found the Rockbox UI to be very intuitive.
I later referred to the manual to find out what the different "Insert" commands for the playlist exactly did (and some other specific things), but I was able to use Rockbox without having to read through the entire manual first.

I'm still trying to figure out how the Creative player would handle Foobar's playlists.

I have a question.... why does adjusting the "stereo width" have no effect on the sound? I've tried adjusting it from the lowest to the highest but I hear no difference at all. I'm using the line out jack(heaphone jack is now useless).
Vortex:
You have to set "Channel Configuration" to "Custom".
