I've been working on an album art version of theme X for sometime now, eventually it got to the point where it was a complete remodel. What I'm going for here is something that still feels like theme X, but with more room to see the background in the WPS, I also wanted a bigger font. Since the layout worked out so good, I'm going to be making a themepack and to make things complete, I made a set of icons. I want this theme to be available to the standard build so I will be making a non-AA version as well. I used nimbus 19 as the font, and also tried one from Rasher's site: Lucidia sans 12 (which is a unicode font), I'm not sure which looks better. As I mentioned, I intend to make a theme pack so to make things interesting if you have a backdrop you'd like to see in this theme, post or link to it here.
One last thing I want to mention is that I will attempt a port to the gigabeat as well once this is finished.

Isn't DGT for iRivers? Besides, when I'm done I'll be releasing the GIMP .xcf and a photoshop .psd, so it could be ported. Glad to hear you like it.

Looks awesome, though I won't be able to use it since I have a Sansa.

But I should be able to at least use those icons, they look really great.

My only major comment would be to try to center the playlist position and times in their respective areas.

In the screenshots with the first font the time appears centered in its area but the playlist position doesn't. With the second font neither appear centered.

Already I can tell I like this better than the original, good work as usual.

I'm about ready to resurrect this WPS, finish it off, polish it, add some backgrounds and upload it.

What I would like to ask from the community is some contributions for background images, as I would dearly love to make this a themepack. If you do present one, could you either state it's license or at least a url where it came from, a good place to look for wallpapers with this sort of info is KDE-look.org, and GNOME-look.org.

I will be doing some browsing of my own in that regard so please no accusations of laziness (although they'd probably be quite valid as I should have finished this a while ago)

Another thing I wanted to ask is which font is better, nimbus19 or lucidia sans? I'm leaning towards lucidia myself.

lastly, this post also signals that I will be releasing the glass iconset, currently there are 3 colors: white red and blue with white looking the best, check: http://forums.rockbox.org/index.php?topic=10859.0  to have a look

Very nice complete re-working!
I'm sure there's a lot of us out there that appreciate the larger fonts. Definitely release a version without custom build requirements.

As for backgrounds... is this any use?

Been using it in a theme I'm toying with, but reckon it might work quite nicely with the greys in your theme.

As for fonts... I quite like the helvetica myself
