codec failure on IPOD video 30GB

<< < (4/4)

elpibe69:
Thanks for the clarification.
BTW I tried with:

44,1 KHz 16bit 128 kbps CBR Blade enc
44,1 KHz 16bit 128 kbps CBR FHG enc
44,1 KHz 16bit 128 kbps CBR Xing enc
44,1 KHz 16bit 192 kbps VBR Lame enc

plus some other.

The error message I was getting before Restoring the IPOD was "could not load .rockbox/vodec/mpa.codec".
Now I am not getting the error message anymore but the audio is still not working.
I dont' have a single clue which codec rockbox is using but I guess it's the default one for mp3 audio since I didn't do anything but copying the .rockbox directory into the root folder of my IPOD.
So I guess I am using all the default options.

mdeh... seems the problem persists on my ipod nano too... the only thing i remember doing before the sound screwed up was installing and playing some minutes of doom :/ but i can hardly see the relation between that and shitty music playback :(

Chronon:
Is it only mp3 playback that's broken?  Sorry I don't have much constructive input.

After wiping my IPOD it seems that the "codec failure - couldn't load blablabla" message has disappeared. Nevertheless the audio is still totally distorted. It's accelerated (seems twice as fast, in fact a 3.25 min mp3 file lasts only 1.42 min), disturbed and lots of noise added.

Any guess  now?

You wouldn't happen to have accidentally set your settings to play audio at a faster rate?
