How to put music files 0n iPod 80gb Rockbox?

(1/2) > >>

ItsMyLife:

This *has* to be a stupid question, but I don't see instructions anywhere on exactly how I put music files (mp3s, flac, etc) on an iPod with Rockbox installed.

I've been through the manual... faqs... and done searches to no avail...

I'm sure the answer is simple, but I'd rather not go the trial an error route on this one.

Well i dont own an ipod, but i assume that like most other players in usb mode it has a folder containing all of you music. Just drag and drop it there (I think). Syncing it normally might also be a possibility.

Raineer:
I just created a directory on my iPod called "My Music" which is an exact mirror of my PC's folder. This can be done in either Windows or Linux for me by plugging USB while sitting at the main menu of Rockbox, it should go into charging mode where you can then access the disk from your PC.

- Settings
- General Settings
- Database
- Initialize Now

and you're set... I know the "it's in the FAQ's" is the easy answer but the initial challenge with moving from iTunes to Rockbox is that it's much easier to operate than you think it would be ;)  Kudos to the devs

ItsMyLife:

Ok cool.... thanks a lot for the info

Yes, Rockbox is awesome... the devs deserve a round o.f applause!

Walrus:
I thought I'd ask before cluttering up my computer with more programs, but would something like Winamp recognize (and thus transfer) my Rockbox'd ipod the way I used it to transfer files to my old Zen?
