Cover Flow for iPod 5G (320x240)

Having converted over from the iAudio X5, this is my first WPS for the iPod since Rockbox just became available for the 80GB 5.5G.   Inspired by the iPhone and its cover flow feature, I came up with this.  I'd appreciate any thoughts or suggestions.

Also wanted to pose the question considering the new copyright restrictions - would this WPS be allowed to be posted to the wiki?

I am guessing that this infringes on Apple's intellectual property.  It looks cool, but I'm going to guess that it won't be allowed into the wiki.

First of all, nice theme, minimal but visually impressive. I think this theme qualifies as one that has been inspired by the iPhone interface, and not a direct copy, therefore making it suitable enough to say that it is not infringing any copyrights. This is somewhat of a grey area, but from what I've seen going on with the wiki, inspired WPS's are ok. Anyway, like Dan mentioned, it's fine on rockbox-themes.org.

Probably many of those themes you're asking about being questionable will be gone too.

As a general set of expectations:
1) All art in the theme should either be your own work, or should be released under a license that allows you to reuse it. This includes icons and text, technically.

2) You shouldn't be reconstructing someone else's art. This means that if you created the art yourself, but it looks almost exactly like say, the Winamp default theme, or yes, Windows Media Player, it's likely to get taken down.

Now, for example, if a winamp theme is released under a Creative Commons license that allows you to, you could reuse the art from it. But in those cases you'll probably need to provide some mention of what license the media you used was under.

As is clear, we're going through some changes, and these rules are neither final nor based on anything other than my personal opinion of what is likely to be or not be accepted.

The bolded part is the only reason I think some folks might have a problem with it.

EDIT: The WPS has been posted.

I was going to do some additional tweaking to the backdrop but never got around to it, so I just decided to post it as is.  I just submitted it to rockbox-themes.org - don't know how long it takes for them to post it.  It's also on Megaupload, but I believe it's against the board rules to post links that are not in the wiki.

Speaking of the wiki, I would still like to post this theme there.   Would appreciate it if I could get a definitive answer from a mod - I don't want to waste my time, so would it be taken down if I posted it?

Where did the background image come from?  Did you create it yourself?

I created it using Photoshop.  It's basically a mishmash of various screenprints - some from the Flash video presentation of the iPhone on the Apple site, in addition to screenprints from my own cover flow library in iTunes.
