MESSED UP SANSA SCREEN

Hi. Like many people I've noticed, my Sansa's screen is messed up. About a quarter of the screen on the top if stuck on white, original firmware or Rockbox firmware. I took off rockbox, but it did nothing. HELP IS STRONGLY APPRECIATED! THANKS!
PS. I took off rockbox and the bootloader, but it was still there. Also, what's a hard reset?
