Playing in USB Mode iPod Nano
« on: May 30, 2007, 12:31:36 AM »
I know this has been asked many times but I have a situation that does not have much answer.

I am playing in USB mode by pressing Menu and connecting the dock with the computer. The song continues to play fine. It plays fine for another five minutes or so and suddenly it gets recognized by the computer and activates into disk mode.

Does anyone know the solution for this. I am using boot loader version 1.1 and firmware build of 05292007

Any help would be appreciated.

I sometime experience late connects to usb while trying to not enter usb mode with my mini. Those occur some seconds (maybe up to 10 seconds, haven't checked) after inserting the cable. Your five minutes sound pretty much to me, but maybe this is a similar issue? Does your problem occur every time?

Maybe the connection to your computer isn't stable, so it disconnects and reconnects. Have you tried different usb ports and different cables?

I also noticed this. This also happens when using an AC USB charger, apparently only when the battery is fully charged. I guess this is the following bug: http://www.rockbox.org/tracker/task/4762

Just realised that this was because of a unstable connection between the iPod and the USB port in my powerbook. Connected to the other port and it works fine.
