Freeze Problem with Car Mode (Iriver H140)

(1/2) > >>

Neff:
I've recently started having problems with car mode on my iriver. I have it plugged into a cigar lighter charger while I drive and when I turn of the ignition, as designed, playback automatically goes into pause.

However it seems to freeze in the pause mode, a log hold of stop doesn't even turn it off - it's paper clip time. Something I haven't had to do for ages.

I'm just installing the 20070529 build and I'll see how that works on tomorrow's commute.

TrisMcC:
I am using a IPOD 5.5G 30Gig and have been having this problem with every daily build for the past few weeks.

Mikerman:
I've had this issue intermittently over the past 3 weeks or so, but thought it might be a power supply issue (I have another device drawing on the cigarette lighter power), and so have been more careful in attaching/detaching my player to the car's power; since then, no issue (in the last week/2 weeks).  This all may simply be coincidental to newer builds that I've downloaded in this period.

Neff:
So far I've had no problems since I installed the 20070529 build.

Mikerman:
Confirmed that this issue exists.

Target:  iRiver iHP-140
Build:  6-6-07 bleeding edge (about 6 p.m. California time)

Switch car mode on, connect the player to power, and start playback.  Either disconnect the power cord from the player or turn the power off.  A press of play will start the player again.  However, reconnecting the power cord instead to the player or turning the power on again, after 2, 5, 10 or 15 seconds, and the player freezes in 2-5 seconds and needs to be restarted with the reset button (and sometimes will boot into iRiver at that point).

Being reported on Flyspray.
