iPOD 5th generation - Key-lock

First off, installed rockbox yesterday and all I can say is wow.. I was so disapointed when I moved to ipod (from creative zen) because I wanted larger storage space. The sound wasnt good, and the volume could never really be high enough and some .mp3's sounded really bad on the ipod (and there only..). But with rockbox all that changed, sound is nice, and with a little theme added it even looks better then the original ipod firmware..

Now, only 1 problem I noticed on the bus this morning. I pressed play at home, and when I arrived in town 30mins later, it was impossible to skip songs, change the volume, or use any buttons at all. I noticed that the icon that indicates that the ipod is locked was showing, and it didnt change no matter how much I tried to slide the lock button. Is this a bug, or is there an internal key-lock function in rockbox I havent noticed yet?

Did you turn on "Party mode" by accident ?

When your ipod is working normally (i.e. not frozen), does the lock icon appear and disappear?

Also, do you have a similar problem when using the Apple firmware?

Yes, when I turn on the ipod I can slide the lock button back and forth and the icon changes also. In the frozen state the song continues to play, only option is to reboot it and choose "resume playback". Then it resumes from an earlier point, not from when i rebooted it (resume from where this issues started?).

and no, havent seen any "partymode" so dont think thats turned on by accident.

It can happen to me when I either plug or unplug from a computer connection.  When you leave for the bus are you disconnecting from a PC?  I've noticed my iPod will continue to play (fat, dumb and happy) but I can't press any buttons besides to reboot.

To solve it I always have my rockbox on and not playing (at main menu) when I attach to USB, that keeps it from hanging. Then a safe eject will keep it from hanging on disconnect.
