Iriver H10 6G + Russian language?
(1/1)
Seemann:
Using a unicode font turns on cyrillic symbols in the menu and in filenames,
But they are still missing in TEXTS(they are sure to be saved as unicode)
and tags.
In original firmware it works, but besides that it's unconvinient to switch to OF firmware, the last two lines in OF do not work(a common known bug)
So is it possible to read .txt files in russian?
Help appreciated
thanks.
nls:
to get tags displayed correctly try to change the "Default codepage" setitng in the display settings menu. I do not know of a way to get the text viewer to open a file in unicode...
pixelma:
You can change the encoding type that the text viewer should use from within the text viewer menu. Pitily this specific setting is currently undocumented in the manual.
Select the .txt - it will be shown but not correctly - then call the text viewer menu as described in the manual (in "plugins -> viewers -> text viewer) and the first setting you can choose is "Encoding". That'll give a long list of possible codepages and the last one in the list is "UTF-8", set it and if you go back to the text it should be displayed correctly. (For russian it could also be "CP1251", I believe).
As far as I know those setting are saved.
Edit: I just saw that "how to get to the menu" is also not documented (trying to find some time to fix it in the next days). Looking at the code it should be the "Rewind" button on the H10.
Seemann:
