I think it might help if you hold it down. i have the exact same target, and you can only move the cursor up in the menus, (it loops back around) and press select.
if any coder is interested that could be a quickfix on the iPod targets.

If you're talking about the gameplay (after navigating the menus) then you might want to try changing the keys

Did you change any settings before playing? 'cause when I got rockbox on my 30g ipod (and back when I played freedoom :D), it worked fine at the very beginning.

I did not change any settings. I installed yesterday's builds of rockbox, rockdoom, and the freedoom wad on a new 80g ipod.

The menu prior to the game screen works fine.

The game screen loads, and appears to look correct, and there is animation of the character space on the bottom bar.

However, once in the game screen, no buttons work anymore. In fact, I cannot even return to rockbox menus without rebooting (must hold down select/menu for 10 seconds).

So, I tried also setting the keys using the rockdoom menus. However, that did not help any.

there is a menu that is supposed to come up automatically.
flip the hold switch once or twice. That should start it.

Thanks.

The in-game menu does not come up automatically, so it appears as if I am already in the game, but the game wasn't responding.

And it took two hold key flips to get the in-game menu. (I only tried one flip, previously.)

Once I get the in-game menu, I can only move up in the menu (pressing menu key). If I go into a sub-menu, I have to flip the hold-key to get out (goes back to a non-menu screen), then flip the hold-key to get back to the main in-game menu again.

I was able to play the game by starting a new game from the in-game menu.. laggy and awkward, but interesting.

Thanks for the help.
- Moe.
