Hi I recently install rockbox on my 5.5 gen ipod on my windows xp computer

and i had a couple of questions.

1. How do i watch my videos can someone explain in detail thanks.

2. Will i damage my ipod if keep on switchin from rockbox firmware to apple firmware

3. Can someone direct me to some fonts

4. Is there any freeware program that lets my resize my pics to 320x240 for my backdrops

5. I was looking at the patches sections and i downloaded a patch it came in the format".patches" how do i apply these patches.

thanks for all the help

1. read about mpegplayer - video playback on the iPod is terrible, this is due to the fact that rockbox does not currently use the Broadcom video chip, there is no public documentation to help the devs so I wouldn't expect video playback to improve dramatically soon. solution: use the apple fw for video

2.no, definitely not.

3. see the extras link on the sidebar

4.Ifranview is good

5.patches need to be applied to source code, and then the source needs to be compiled into a build. For an intro to patching/compiling read : http://www.rockbox.org/twiki/bin/view/Main/SimpleGuideToCompiling
since it looks like you are new to this, I'd recommend looking in the unsupported builds forum for one that includes the patch you have, much easier than compiling.

Video playback on the ipod Nano is excellent - 30fps full-screen.  On the ipod Photo/Color, it's good - over 20fps fullscreen.

Out of all the ipods with colour LCDs, it's only the ipod video that mpegplayer struggles on.

Thanks for the clarification, I should've been a bit more specific; I kinda forgot about the rest of the iPods because the OP mentions its a video one we're talking about.
