Menu screen Bookmark selection: include further bookmark info.--folder name?
Llorean:
The intent of the Record button was never to be a backlight button. The fact that it works as one right now is just a sort of coincidence until it has actions for other screens.
People who are using it to turn on the backlight should probably try to break that habit now. ;)
The record button will be used for something functional, in time.
Mikerman:
Llorean, I would be very pleased to break the habit of using REC to turn the backlight on (which actually has proven to be very convenient), for a user-configurable REC button.
;)

prety much what I said in the tracker...

I believe this is incorrect. The directory/playlist information is held in the bookmark file, and therefore it would be quite easy to show this information in the list.

Not a programmer here, but when I call a bookmark up in the viewer or editor, the bookmark's folder also is indicated as part of the file path. Perhaps this information could be captured for the Recent Bookmarks screen? (But, what do I know ... ;) )

I guess it's just a judgment call between the 2 as shortcuts, but also noting that users may unwittingly delete a bookmark thru use of the REC key until its bookmark delete function is learned/noted, as happened to me.

Note that it is only recently un-noted. With the old bookmark selection screen, the REC to delete option was indicated on-screen. Also, this only applies for the h100 and h300 series; other players use other buttons. One option could be to move delete to a long REC press, as on the x5, to make it harder to trigger by accident, now that the behavior isn't clearly spelled out.
