My new theme for iPod video, phkGUITAR. The idea of this eletric guitar based theme, came to me last year, but I just started to work on it on the last week.

In my opinion, the longer and hardest part of doing a WPS theme is to think where an how to dispose and organize the images and infos on the screen, combining with theme concept. I tried a lot of combinations, and thought in endless variations, but I'm ending choosing for this.

This theme got both Gibson and Fender caractheristics mixed. A Les Paul Jr body with a P-90 "soap bar" single pick up, and a SG pickguard style. A Fender type bridge, knob and switch.
Please, don't ask me why the 5 position switch if just have one pick-up...:P

-The Battery level is graphically displayed in the pickup polepieces, with the percent too
-The Volume level is displayed graphically by the rotating VOL knob, with the dB info too
-A pick / icons represents the player status* My doubt: which looks better?
-A 5 position switch for the repeat modes
-The output jack flashs red when in disk activity
-The pickguard is where the track name infos are displayed.

I'll also make a version with scrolling margins to keep the track name info inside the pickguard.

This theme rocks! (pun intended, I know I'm lame, thank you)

I prefer the version with the pick indicating the play status, it fits the theme better, and you've put it in different positions to indicate the play mode, so that should cancel out it being harder to read.
Glad to see another WPS coming from you PHK, you always deliver the right stuff.

Just curious: why are your gif's so spastic? do you make them while on speed or something? ;)

Thanks for the reply, evilG.

I agree that the pick for play status fits the theme concept better.  But visually I'm in doubt... I didn't check the pick version on the iPod yet.

*I made the GIF on Corel PhotoPaint, and I just repeat some images to stay more time displayed. (i'm not shure if I understood your question, sorry... My English...)

I meant that the frame rate on your gif's is really quick, the image changes really fast. I have no experience whatsoever making gifs, it's just something I've noticed.
