battery dies quick
delorean90:
i have updated to a recent build and i have even tested battery life on the original firmware, and it definately seems like a rockbox problem. i love all the new features on rockbox and i do not want to have to rollback to a build before march 20th, i understand everyone is busy but if someone could fix this problem i would highly apreciate it
Llorean:
Tell us exactly what part of the hardware initialization is incorrect, and we'll gladly fix it.
Nobody has denied that the H10 gets poorer battery life with Rockbox, because ALL PortalPlayer targets do, this is very well known.
delorean90:
well, i am not sure as to the specific hardware problem. but it is getting signifigantly lower battery life recently (i would say since the new bootloader on march 20th). i used to get maybe 5-6hours out of rockbox, but now i get about an hour max, it is definitiely not my battery because i have tested the original firmware and got 8-10 hours (the factory battery life) i would downgrade to a version before march 20th, but the files simply do not exist anymore to make tha possible, i also cannot switch to the OF because that would mean re-organising my entire library.
Llorean:
Alright, with an official bootloader and official (no patches) build of Rockbox, running an actual battery bench, could you post the results of that?
delorean90:
i did the batter bench although i forgot to clear the settings, so this isnt completly accurate, but it gives a rough estimate of how serious the problem is
This plugin will log your battery performance in a
file (/battery_bench.txt) every time the disk is accessed (or every hour).
To properly test your battery:
1) Select and playback an album. (Be sure to be more than the player's buffer)
2) Set to repeat.
3) Let the player run completely out of battery.
4) Recharge and copy (or whatever you want) the txt file to your computer.
Now you can make graphs with the data of the battery log.
Do not enter another plugin during the test or else the logging activity will end.
P.S: You can decide how you will make your tests.
Just don't open another  plugin to be sure that your log will continue.
M/DA (Measurements per Disk Activity) shows how many times
data was logged in the buffer between Disk Activity.
