battery dies quick
delorean90:
my battery has been diying very quickly, what happens is that after a full charge an hour later at a random point the voulume shoots to 6db and then it turns off, this is very annoying, im not sure if it is the battery or the firmware, could anyone help? and yes it has a recent build on it, from a week ago if i remember correctly
Llorean:
I assume you have an H10, as you've not told us what player this problem is with, but it's clear you at least have an H10 from your signature.
I'll start by saying "a week old" is not a recent build. Rockbox changes quickly enough that if you're experiencing something you think is a bug, you need to update to the current build and try to verify it.
But this is something you need to test in the original firmware, to see if you're getting poorer battery life than you used to there. Also, a battery_bench in Rockbox might provide some information.
The volume shooting up is most likely because the H10 touchpad seems to act strangely when it has low power.
delorean90:
the player completely dies at 50%, i cant update at the moment because the computer freezes everytime i plug my h10 in
evermore:
I have experienced this also, the battery is at full and then an hour later the volume shoots up to the maximum, player doesn't respond to pressing any buttons then it turns off. Then about 20 minutes later I can turn it back on and get another hour's playing time (so the battery doesn't really die as it's not at 0%, but Rockbox just behaves like it's died).
Recently I switched back to original firmware and the battery does last longer with the original firmware.
I have just updated the bootloader and the build to the current build so we will see if that makes a difference. But yes I can concur that the issue is rather annoying.
DanManners:
I believe it's called an MP3eizure.
Sorry, I had to say that.
