Data Abort..........?!

 So I was listening to my 30gb Video iPod (Squarepusher) when all of the sudden I get a burst of white noise and the iPod just stops.  In the very top left hand side of the screen I get in a tiny font-  Data Abort at____I dont recall the numbers&letters it said the Data Abort was at  I know I should have written it down but I get a little hyped up when I am listening to Squarepusher and it gets cut off all of the sudden.  the back light wasnt on nor would the unit respond to anything. I restarted it in Rockbox of course and it seems fine.  Just wondering what this might be and if anyone else has had this?  Also my battery has been draining at a much too fast rate.  I feel I should replace it as this unit has had abit of use since I got it so does anyone have any recommendations on where to get a battery?
