80gb 5.5g Ipod Video Users..
bobdavis123:
Should be aware that by the looks of it (and mine has not crashed yet) that we're now functionally supported. Not officially of course - as testing has to be done.
There are a few hoops to jump through to get it all going but it is most definitely worth it.
Many thanks to amiconn for providing the crucial adjustments
One thing to remember is to make sure you get the SVN version rather than the daily build as the bootloader code is not included with the daily build and you most definitely have to build your own bootloader. I ah, learned this the hard way. :)

linuxstb:
You don't have to build your own bootloader - the current official version of ipodpatcher (v1.0 with v1.1 bootloaders) includes 80GB 5.5g support.
80GB 5.5g users just need to do exactly the same as all other ipod users - follow the install instructions in the manual.

I think that is inaccurate information.

Here is a working implementation for those eager to test. You need to build and install both rockbox and a custom bootloader with this patch applied.

And that comment is from 4 days ago, while the person who posted in this thread is the person who tends to be the maintainer of iPodPatcher and would be the person most likely to know its status at any given time.

Has ipodpatcher changed in the last few days? I used it with no success on tuesday.
I had an (ata) patched version of rockbox installed and it wouldn't go any further than the logo. It wasn't until I built my own bootloader from the svn that it worked.
And by worked I mean I had not changed anything on the the drive, the existing patched rockbox was still there but replacing the bootloader and doing a manual ipodpatch did the trick?
