As well, sort tags offer the ability to have names sorted differently, numbers such as the word "Three" treated the same as the number "3" for people who prefer that, etc. A vast amount of increased flexibility, and no language restrictions.

Poor etiquette to bump an old thread, I know, but I was wondering if any progress had been made on the front of getting "sortartist" and "artist" to automatically work together in the database? (ie it sorts by one and displays the other, rather than recognizing but displaying the sorttag)

the flyspray seems to have not been updated, just curious...

I've had no time recently to work on this patch (or anything else Rockbox related).  Unfortunately I don't see this changing for a while. Maybe try and convince Slasheri to have a go at it since he's the tagcache guy.
