Displlaying album art

(1/1)

mschneider:
I've patched an album art build and put some properly resized files (100x100 for the sansa "Blue Bend" theme) to test it out but the files are not being displayed. i've put the files in the same directory as the track and renamed them according to
(trackname).bmp
cover.bmp
(albumname).bmp

and none of these are being displayed. Any suggestions?

TheGooman:
Cover.bmp should function. Is the pixel depth 16 bits?

mschneider:
yes the pixel depth is 16bits. Does capitalization matter?

TheGooman:
I wouldn't think so. I Just capitalized because it was the beginning of a sentence,  ;). Don't know what to tell you. Is this a build you patched yourself or are you using a someone else's custom build? If it's someone else's I would post on their thread in the unsupported builds section of the forum.

lights0ut:
I don't suppose capitalization matters, but just to be safe I'd name it

cover.bmp

the specifications on the album art wiki page state it as "cover.bmp" so sticking to no caps would be safest. To offer a reason to why the album art isn't being displayed: which WPS are you using? does it have the correct album art code? What (pixel) size is the .bmp? if the WPS calls for 100x100 you should have 100x100 album art, unless your build has the BMP resize patch then you can have any size album art as long as the WPS is coded properly.

This is an example of the proper Album art code with resizing:

%Cl|50|70|s100|s100|
%C

hope that helps ;)
