Longer mp3's (1 hour at 64kbps) cause iPod to stop responding.

(1/1)

lalittle:
I've noticed for numerous builds now that long mp3 files (1 hour at 64kbps) quite often cause my iPod to stop responding to user commands.  By this I mean that the program keeps playing, but the display is frozen, and none of the controls work.  The only way to get things back to normal is to force a reboot.  There is no specific place on any given program where this will happen -- it simply occurs after the play has been playing for a while.  I've never noticed this behavior on shorter mp3's.

Even though it can take a while for this problem to present itself (5 to 25 minutes), it is actually VERY consistent -- so much so that I've gone back to using the native apple firmware any time I want to listen to long format mp3's.  The native apple firmware has never shown the same problem on these files.

Has anyone else noticed this?  Is there anything that can be done about it?

Thanks,

Larry
