Ghost .bmp file
« on: May 21, 2007, 06:51:42 PM »
I have a .bmp in my backdrops folder that i had accidentally modified to be an archive file. I undid this and now whenver i try to delete the file it will dissappear and then re-appear when i go back into the folder. Whenever i try to delete the folder (either by deleting the backdrops folder or the entire rockbox folder) everything is deleted and then the error message "cannot delete backdrops the folder is not empty" appears. Everything is deleted except for the ghost file. is there any way to delete this without formatting my player?

This sounds like an OS-specific question.  As I have experience with windows and linux, and I can't imagine how you could do this, I assume you're using a mac.  I'd ask this question on a mac-specific board (or a board for you OS if it's not mac)

The short answer is "No," though.  There has to be some way to do this.

Unfortunately you did not say which operating system you are using. Try to check the disk filesystem integrity and possibly repair it using the appropriate tool in your OS.
