Ipod won't boot after attempted install of rockbox
« on: May 20, 2007, 06:26:26 PM »
I rushed through the install , didn't install itunes and didn't check what the ipod was formated to but managed to get the bootloader on to my ipod. Now I can't installed itunes on my machine so I can't re format and get things going.

Anyone know how to reformat this in windows? I have little code knowledge and a step by step might help.

I *think* you can just start start the install process over, and assuming you follow the instructions this time, it should work.

I never was able to get itunes working so the Fas32 never reformated on my ipod. I never event thought of using itune because of a terrible experience with a podcast.

I bought mine used.

I'm also experiencing the black ipod logo/black screen of death and don't know how to turn my ipod off. the menu+select leads me to the rockbox 1.0 bootloader screen or the disk mode.

My ipod seems to be workin again after I tried to unistall the bootloader which told me It couldn't because it was running under a mac. I'm justing having a itunes problem now so i'll just look for some kind of fas32 loader. any thoughts here maybe?
