playlist... functionality?

alright, im at a loss for what to do. so, to the forums. haha. =)

i cant figure out how to properly manipulate playlists in rockbox. heres a few questions:

how do i "clear" the current playlist, so that nothing shows in the wps screen?

can i just "play" a directory without creating a playlist for it?

is there any way to do a group/multiple delete from a playlist instead of one at a time?

Llorean:
You can't clear a playlist so that nothing shows in the WPS. WPS means "While Playing Screen", which means you can only see with while SOMETHING is playing.

You can just play a directory, just click on any one song in the directory and it'll play, or click and hold on the directory and choose "Playlist->Insert"

And no, no multiple deletes.

musasabi:
i know wps means while playing screen, haha. but when you load a blank playlist, it says no files to be played (obviously). i just figured there might be a real way to do that, so you could start a new playlist inside the player.

and thanks, i figured out the directory playing.

Llorean:
To start a new playlist, stop music, then "Playlist->Insert" whatever you want to start the playlist with.

Vortex:

--- End quote ---

I'm a bit confused as how to stop playback. The only thing I seem to be able to do is pause playback, in which case "Insert" will insert the selected track(s) after the currently paused track.

I would like to start a from a new, empty playlist and add single songs to it.

EDIT: lol, nevermind. I just figured out that holding down the pause key stops playback. The rest works as you described it. Thanks! ;)
