Possible for file browser to default to folder other than root?

Hmm... This thread has been inactive for a while now, but I'd also be glad if the feature would be implemented. Maybe the developers have changed their mind?
As I write this, I have a red warning over the text field stating that "this topic has not been posted in for at least 120 days. Unless you're sure you want to reply, please consider starting a new topic." I choose not to start a new topic because there is already one.
I'd like to add that if this feature gets implemented, it would be nice if the start folder could be also set on the SD card (for devices supporting them, e.g. Sansa players).

I don't see a point in this. I'd rather have the file browser remember its position between power cycles instead (as that position could be different to the current playing song, so there is quite a difference to the "follow playlist" setting). Such a setting might not need an option to turn it off ;)

After having thought about it a couple of minutes I think that it could be a setting named "Where to start in the file browser" with the following options:
1. A fixed folder (which can be set by user). This is what RockBox does now, with the folder being the root folder.
2. Folder of the last played song
3. Folder where the user was when the player was switched off (the user might have been browsing while a song was playing and thus was in other folder than the song)
The third option can be easily achieved by starting playback (after the player is switched on) and having 'Follow Playlist' activated. But it requires some actions while the option would do it directly.
What do you think?
And please: move this thread to the forum 'Feature Ideas.' I think that forum didn't exist when this one was started.
