Rockboy Sound
fjgrf:
Ok, 1st off Rockbox rocks. 2nd- Is the sound in rockboy always all messed up? It sounds like a really old arcade games on pretty average games. 3rd- Is there any way to listen to songs while playing rockboy, or would that just freeze it up? (ps. I'm using sansa) THANKS!
mattandme:
no, im not sure about the sound, its not the best gameboy emulator on handhelds, but its good, and no, there is no way you can get your music to work with it, no.
Vortex:
The rockboy sound on my Sansa is all messed up too, but I don't really care since I don't use rockboy. I'm happy enough that normal music playback works. ;D

I can Help a but, fjgrf-
1- What MP3 do you have?
2- Is the emulator scaled (full-screen)? Unscaling it improves performance.
3- GB or GBC? on GB games (and maybe it's just me...) setting the pallet to Light Gray helps out a little. also, GB games just run better in Rockboy. GBC games ar just all around laggy. The only things you can do for GBC Games is to unscale the screen, and...
4- Raise the maximum frameskip. The frameskip helps out when the action gets REALLY laggy, and skips some frams so the lag can stay in-sync with the sound/music.
5- ANOTHER thing you can do to improve gbc games is to somehow convert them to GB ROMS. I personally dont know how to do this, but read up on the iboy page on the Ipodlinux site for more info (note about this one-Back up ROMS before diong this. I heard it might glitch up the graphics in the game...)
That's all I got on improving Rockboy. Good luck
