USB Connect time

when I had Itunes on this windows computer the I pod appears to take A long Time to be detected.
In my case it was an Itunes resident program that intercept the usb port interrorgate the ipod and then fire up itunes.
removing itunes makes detection much quicker IMHO. Or remove the resident program, I think its called Itunes helper.

No, it's not my virus scanner. I'm more inclined to say it is the port. I removed the resident program and the issue persists. I do use a sim but it's not exactly the same, sometimes I like to see it on my Ipod.

What usb port version do you have? And why do you think that it is not the problem?

I have to PCs at home... One of them has usb 2.0 and the other one has 1.1... It takes about 4 minutes to get ipod connected on the second one and 5 seconds with the first one... They(pcs) have the same soft installed...
