rockbox works fine, but apple os wont boot
(1/1)
slevinmontana:
hi i have the rockbox bootloader and firmware where you just put the ipod on hold and it'll load up the original apple os firmware, but when i do that the ipod shows the apple logo then shows a black screen then i can hear my hard drive make a noise like it sstopping or something, then it reboots, and itll keep going through that cycle untill i release the hold button and hte rockbox os starts.
any suggestions?
thnx!
bluebrother:
You can try if loading AppleOS from a file works. Run ipodpatcher with this command line:
ipodpatcher -rf apple_os.ipod
then place the created file "apple_os.ipod" at the root of your player. Try to load AppleOS the same way by enabling the hold switch when booting. It seems there are some rare cases where loading from the firmware partition makes trouble.

hey thnx for the suggestion, but when i boot it up with the hold switch on, it either stays at the apple logo forever or it reboots again... any other ideas?
i did
ipodpatcher -rf apple_os.ipod
then i copied that file into my root folder.
