More MPEG Problems
« on: May 15, 2007, 08:20:34 PM »
I just put an mpeg file straight off the net onto my 1st generation ipod nano, and it played slow, and it only caught the upper left hand corner of the video, making it very un-entertaining. Could  someone please help me????

Re-encode it to the correct resolution (176x128) for the Nano.  See the PluginMpegplayer wiki page (or search these forums) for lots of advice on encoding videos for use in Rockbox.

okay, but i am having trouble doing this step here:
Quote
After the program is installed, replace the presets.xml in the WinFF folder (default is C:\Program Files\WinFF\) with this one: presets.xml

I cant find where to put the presets.xml file.

if you are running windows the installed programs are usually stuck in a very large folder, in C:/Program Files/ and in this folder, find the folder WinFF and place the file in there. really i could not imagine what could go wrong for you in this step, so you wight want to give us a little more detail?
