Current status of 3G port?
« on: May 10, 2007, 06:55:38 AM »
The wiki says that the 3G port does not work properly, due to the CPU being too slow to decode OGG/FLAC. Is that still the case? I'd like to use RockBox for Ogg and MP3 mainly.

The problem is mainly that the people who are interested in an improvement to the 3G port aren't members of the core development team. Another way of saying that is that none of the core guys appear to own a 3G / or are not interested in the amount of work it would take to improve the performance on it.

Try Ipodlinux, I think It can play ogg files (though I don't think it will play well).
