The video is 250kbps and 176 by 128 at 25 fps. I am using Loader2 for ipodlinux but it's pretty new. It's version 2.5 beta i believe.

Your video sounds like it should play at full-speed (i.e. 25fps).

Try upgrading your bootloader to the latest version - either Loader2 or the Rockbox bootloader.  For Loader2, it needs to be a version newer than January 2007.

I am also having video playing issues with video created with WinFF under the Gigabeat 4:3 setting.

I play one video (small video clip) plays fine. After this video ends or I quit.

I play a 2nd video clip (shows first frame) and the player locks up and the led lights on the side light up. No buttons function and have to use the battery switch to turn the player off. On restarting I can now play the video.

I've an iPod Nano 4Gb, Loader 2 (latest version from 2 weeks ago) and a very recent build of Rockbox (a week ago). The player (when it plays) works perfect so far (tested +15 music videos/movie clips encoded with WinFF, 160 kbps video and 128 for audio) and no audio desync or video problem whatsoever.

But  I'm having the same problem as http://www.rockbox.org/tracker/task/6921
After doing a menu->quit from mpegplayer, not only a second execution of mpegplayer, but any app that uses audio will hang up the entire system. I think something wrong happens to the audio thread. Looking at debug mode options, it seems locked up as it was still playing someting.

Someone said a similar problem has some relation with an older version of Loader. To clarify, this problem is a (current) mpegplayer bug or it has something to do with (the latest version of) Loader 2 too?

Since I'm using very recent builds of everything I can't understand why the forementioned bug was marked as fixed a month ago. The bug persisted, I'm overlooking something or what?=P And how can I help to resolve this?

Thanks =)!

Llorean:
Please test with the official bootloader, and a current build. A week ago is not current, though in this case it should be current enough in regards to mpegplayer, you should never, ever refer to anything other than a build you've just downloaded from the current build page as new enough as updates to Rockbox happen multiple times per day and many of them can change relevant things. You're also using an unsupported bootloader which, depending on which exact version you mean (telling us it's 'from 2 weeks ago' doesn't tell us whether you downloaded it from somewhere, or built it directly from their SVN repository, but it's unsupported either way) the bootloader could be the problem since Mpegplayer depends on proper coprocessor function.
