m4a on ipod video with rockbox

(1/1)

Ipod Mini Fan 1969:
Hey i just got a new ipod video 30gb, and for some reason when I try to play m4a files in rockbox, they will NOT WORK... any ideas?

says "codec error"

Chronon:
Huh.  I have not had that problem.  My AAC files have been pretty reliable.  Sometimes that error comes from some incompatibility between different parts of the installation.  A fresh install might fix it.  Are you using the most current bootloader?

saratoga:
You're sure they're m4a files right?  Rockbox will not play m4p files at all.

GodEater:
Also - if they came from the iTunes website, they'll be DRM crippled - which would explain why they won't play.

Chronon:

I think those would be the m4p files that saratoga mentioned.
