*JUST* got my first iPod seconds ago...do I need to run the installation disc?

Hi Llorean.... I just received my very first iPod(iMod to be more specific) and I wanna run Rockbox ASAP. The package came with an installation disc for the default Apple firmware. But do I still need to run this disc if just wanna run rockbox? Or can I simply bypass it?

What the heck is an "iMod" ?

If you want to run Rockbox there is no need to install any Apple software on your PC - so yes, you can just bypass it.
