Help Setting Up Ubuntu 7.04 Compiling Computer from Rockboxdev.sh
(1/1)
DanManners:
I know I've basically asked about this before, but I just got Ubuntu 7.04 installed on an old computer, and I want to set it up into a compiling computer for a build I might start publicly (and for personal reasons). Anyway, I go to run Rockboxdev.sh in the tools folder of the source, and it gives me this error:
--- Code: ---daniel@daniel-desktop:~$ '/home/daniel/Desktop/rockbox-20070508/tools/rockboxdev.sh'
Download directory: /home/daniel/tmp (edit script to change dir)
Install prefix: /usr/local/[target] (edit script to change dir)
Build dir: /home/daniel/build-rbdev (edit script to change dir)
WARNING: this script is set to install in /usr/local but has no
WARNING: write permission to do so! Please fix and re-run this script
--- End code ---
Now, does anyone have any ideas? By the way, the file already has FULL permissions, went to properties and gave it proper privlages. Help? Please?

Never mind...I'm stupid. I had to run it as 'sudo'.

great news, Dan. Enjoy compiling, and enjoy 7.04 how is having compiz installed by default? ;)
(although if it's a really old PC, I don't think you would be doing any fancy XGL would you? )

A bit off topic, but It's only a two year old computer. My brother just borked it because he dropped it about...Oh, I don't know...six feet or so? :-P
So ya, compiz and beryl are gorgeous. I love shakey windows and whatnot Hahaha!
