Display unpadded day in WPS?

Another RTC related niggle.. its not currently possible to display an unpadded day - the only two options, currently, are:

%cd  day of month (01..31)  
%ce  day of month, blank padded ( 1..31)  

This isnt ideal for the WPS line I'm trying to create:

10:01pm :: Monday ::  7 March 2007

..theres always a double space if the day is a single digit, throwing off the delicate asthetics of the line. Is there any way around that?

Maybe we could simply remove the padding space ? I'm not sure it's useful to anyone...

The padding space is pretty useful for positioning in fixed with font WPSes. Does "07 March 2007" really look that bad though?

Just wanted to say nearly the same, that without the padding (even blank) the date "jumps" around and this isn't very nice as well. With it the position stays the same and (my addition) this applies not only to fixed width fonts but to all because the numbers should have all the same width as a convention as far as I know. To my knowledge only the "snap" font doesn't follow this rule.
