customized device

Hello
I am trying to build a custom shaped and custom functionality mp3 player to be embedded into another device.
I need to customize the behavior of the buttons, the LCD screen, and the menus.
My question is: is there a mp3 motherboard programmable by Rockbox and used in industrial players so I can program it?

Rockbox only runs on portable players at the moment.  You'll have to port it to your hardware.

Is it dependent on the motherboard type of the portable devices or the type itself? i.e. if there is a clone to one of the devices using the same motherboard, will it work on it?

If you have a look at the svn Source(source code layout) and the wiki then you can find some already working chipsets and cpus. So you could look what you can adapt to build your custom device.
