How does the OF of the X5 play videos?
« on: May 07, 2007, 10:00:12 AM »
How does the X5's roiginal firmware play videos? Is all the decoding done on the CPU or is there a special video chip (like in the ipod video)?
The reason why I'm asking this is: if the decoding is done on the CPU, it would be *possible* to get xvid playback working in RB on the X5, right? Just out of interest..

Straight CPU-only.

Sure xvid is indeed possible. Start working!

(people could of course argue about the sensibility in such a project, but that's not what we discuss here, rigth? ;-)
