iRiver H3xx / Implementation of Digital Out

I was looking into the possibility to add the digital out feature to the H3xx series.
I think this should not be too much of an issue as the hardware is the same as for the 1xx series.
This means the code for the digital out on the Coldfire DSP already exists and could be easily implemented into the 3xx code.
Just a simple hardware modification would be needed to bring the necessary contacts of the CPU to an external connector. In this way Optical and / or Coax would be possible.
Please correct me if I see the situation too easy but at the moment I see no hindering point on this subject. The community would be more than happy to have a second option for a DAP with digital out.

It could be trivial to connect an S/PDIF transceiver to the CPU, but there is a risk that the signals are not exposed on the PCB, and you can't reach the pins on the CPU BGA package.
