Badder performance on Ipod Video than on Sansa e250 ??

(1/3) > >>

Peterdk:
Hi
I've just bought an Ipod Video 5,5G 30GB. After i smashed my Sansa e250's display.

Well my big question is why it feels like rockbox isn't performing as good on my ipod video, than on my previous player.
Some plugins like Plasma, Rockdoom and Rockboy is lagging alot while there was no problems at all on my sansa ?
Is there any way to fix this ?

Buy a Gigabeat ;) . Does this happen with the current build? and could you be a bit more descriptive of the type of lag you experience? Are you playing high bitrate files while you are messing with the plugins? if you don't have audio playing does performance improve?

Peterdk:
Yep it happens with the current build . Well it doesn't show the plasma plugin as fast as the e250 did . And if you go to the "mandelbrot" plugin it takes 5+ sec. to zoom or move the picture while it didn't even take a second on the e250. I'm not playing songs or anything.
I was a bit dissapointed when finding out that this expensive player performed worse than the cheap sansa player.
But do you think it's just my player or are every Ipod Video 5,5G ?

Plz help .

gnu:
It's simply because the Ipod video has a very big screen (=> many pixels) , but a CPU that's not faster than a nano's...
That's why rockbox works on nanos best, and on 5Gs worst.
