ipod nano Rockbox and linux...?
sadffffff:
what part of rockbox is based off linux/ipod linux? is the bootloader based off a hacked ipod linux bootloader? or whats the connection there?
(forgive me if i've missed reading this somewhere)

The reverse engineered info from the IpodLinux project was used to write rockbox drivers. I don't think any of their code was, though maybe a bit was somewhere.

im just curcious because it sems like theyre definately still using some sort of changed up linux loader. or have left some of the linux code in and its still somehow accessible

ok story time:
my battery was low to the point of the nano shutting off seconds after loading rockbox, so i shut rockbox down and put on the hold switch, and stuck it in my pocket. While walking to my car i slipped the hold switch to off in my pocket and pushed some of the buttons on it. then i thought "oop, thats going to turn it on" so i took it back out to turn it off again and on the screen was a different loading screen than the normal rockbox one. it said soemthing about linux loader and loading linux, but files not found.. im sorry i cant be more discriptive because after hanging there for a few seconds the battery ran out again and it shut off. I didnt have the time to get my camera out or really memorize anything.
so thats the source of my curiosity, i saw a screen that i have never seen before referencing linux. I have never even TRIED to install ipod linux on my nano so it either came from rockbox/its bootloader, or it came from the apple firmware.
and thus far i havent been able to reproduce the screen. :(
