Ipod Mini 2nd gen using rockbox
« on: May 03, 2007, 03:15:53 PM »
i am having a problem, I dont see any SLEEP MODE in the menus under rockbox to shut this thing off....

I have to hold down the PLAY button for it to go into sleep, when I do this, it REBOOTS into the regular IPOD FIRMWARE, and then I must tell it to sleep from THIS menu... is this normal?

thanks!

Ps - also when i fire up the mini from sleep, I have to do a hard reboot (select + menu) to get it to start in ROCKBOX... I dont use the original firmware for the ipod anymore...how can I use rockbox ONLY?

thanks guys..

This program totally KICKS ASS! I wish I knew about it years ago!

There is none. Deep sleep hasn't been implemented yet.

I don't know what you are doing, but holding down the Play button shuts down the player, it doesn't reboot. This is also described in the manual ...

When I hold down the play button, the ipod mini (2nd generation) REBOOTS and rockbox starts up again...

I don't know what exactly you are doing, but holding down Play shuts down the mini. This works fine on mine with all recent builds I tried.

Make sure you use an official build and a recent one.

Ah I now see there is NO DEEP SLEEP mode for rockbox, you can only hold down the MENU BUTTON.

IS there any talk about adding DEEP SLEEP to rockbox? thanks!

I said that before: nobody has implemented deep sleep yet. No idea why you haven't realized that earlier ... but holding down Menu doesn't do anything on my mini. Holding down Play shuts down the Ipod like described in the manual. This is a hard shutdown, no reboot.

not yet. Feel free to start working on it ;)
